C. David Moody, Jr. has served as President & CEO of C.D. Moody Construction since its 1988 inception. Some of the company’s major projects are Philips Arena, the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Turner Field, Big Bethel Baptist Church and Orlando, Florida’s Disney World, and a number of distinguished projects on the Morehouse College campus.
Moody earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Morehouse and the Bachelor of Architecture, a five-year professional degree, from Howard University. His graduate coursework includes Architecture at the University of Michigan and Construction Management at Georgia Tech. Additionally, Moody has taken continuing education courses at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School, an executive class on financial reporting for nonfinancial managers at Emory University, and the MBE Business Owner, Executive Training Course at Dartmouth, Amos Tuck Business School.
Moody’s expansive involvement with community groups has earned him many honors and afforded him the opportunity to serve in the capacity of Commissioner, Board Member, Rotarian, Trustee, Fraternity Member, and Advisory Board Member. He is President of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors.
As President of the C.D. Moody Construction Foundation, David has awarded over 80 scholarships and established endowed scholarships at Morehouse College, Howard University and Central State University. He has participated in Leadership Georgia and Leadership Atlanta. Moody has also motivated and guided five new minority entrepreneurs into business. He has adopted Stoneview Elementary School and Stephenson Middle School. Moody is a United Methodist Church Certified Lay Speaker, and a business and motivational speaker.
